How to Choose the Best Air Fryer

Air fryers can make many of the foods that are at their best when fried, like chicken wings and French fries, but they also excel at baking and roasting, and some can do all three in less time than it takes to heat up a larger oven. Our test cooks also found they can get great results with a range of other foods, from zucchini and stuffed peppers to smoked salmon and chocolate cake.

The best melhor air fryer  for you will depend on how often and for how many people you plan to use it. If you’re cooking for a crowd, consider a large or dual-drawer model. These have enough room to hold an entire chicken and other larger dishes. They’re also the most energy efficient.

If you’re cooking for one, a smaller air fryer with a transparent window might be enough. These models typically have a little less capacity than the larger drawer models but still plenty for two or four people. They tend to be cheaper, too.

This XL air fryer from Philips has a very generous cooking capacity. It’s one of the few we’ve tested to come close to delivering the quality of a full-size deep fryer, but it doesn’t take up much counter space.

Freelancer Erin liked this Philips model in her kitchen, which has a clear viewing window and enough capacity to roast a whole chicken. It also features a handful of presets (chips, meat, fish, vegetables, nuggets, pizza and dessert) and an app that lets you track progress and change settings on the fly. Its digital touchscreen can feel a bit confusing to navigate at first, and it lacks a manual, but it’s worth the learning curve for its impressive performance.
