2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV Review

2025 chevrolet equinox ev

The 2025 chevrolet equinox ev is General Motors at its best. It’s an electric car that feels as familiar as any other SUV on the road, complete with a large display for the infotainment system and a comfortable driver’s seat that puts controls within easy reach. It’s also surprisingly inexpensive, starting at just $34,995 before factoring in the $7,500 federal EV tax credit. click here

My Equinox EV LT was well-appointed, with an expansive 17.7-inch central touchscreen and a secondary display for the instrument cluster that stretches across the dashboard. Like other GM EVs, this one doesn’t offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto smartphone-mirroring capabilities, but you do get Google Maps and Google Assistant built into the infotainment system, along with an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot that can be shared among multiple devices. Uplevel models add navigation and a head-up display.

This front-wheel-drive EV has a single electric motor that produces 213 horsepower, but there’s a dual-motor version available for those who want all-wheel drive and a boost to 300 horses. Regardless of which model you choose, the Equinox EV’s 85-kWh lithium-ion battery delivers a surprisingly impressive 319 miles per charge—even when I drove it with the air conditioning running and the windows rolled down.

The Equinox EV offers a comfortable, composed ride with aggressive regenerative braking that allows for a more single-pedal driving experience. It handles smoothly and accelerates with enough gusto to make highway passing a breeze. The Equinox EV’s quiet interior is a delight, and it has ample cargo room for family gear and groceries. It also has plenty of places to stash personal items, including a spacious center console area where I could easily store my purse and laptop. The rear seats are split into two sections for more flexibility, and there’s ample space for child safety seats.
